That wasn't a great workout...
Observation: My hip flexors didn't hurt toward the end of my first round... they are back to hurting again which tells me my abs are weak once again. Also, my left arm is still weaker than my right.
Is it Saturday yet?

Day 2 - Plyometrics
I woke up and YES, my abs were SO sore... what a glorious feeling! My legs are sore from the bike, too.... Halfway through my trip I started to get pelted with stinging raindrops and had to pedal as fast as I could for about 2 miles before the torrential downpour began... So needless to say, thighs are a little sore.
But my ABS! Owwie. Loving it.
Plyo today... I am a little apprehensive about giving it my all today... I don't want to pull a muscle like I did the first time back in March. However, I want to do this thing right. I'll go as hard as I can. The only thing really holding me back is that I have been out of my 12-hour inhaler for a couple months now, so breathing may be an issue... which means my heart rate is going to skyrocket... I'll do the best I can.
Something else I thought of... I don't want to push myself to work out every day like I did before... I think that is what led to me constantly getting sick and feeling burnt out. New rule: If there is a night I feel too tired to have a decent workout, instead of pushing myself, I will take a night off... and no more doubling up on 2 workouts in one day unless I feel up to it. I may do that today since the 3rd workout is shoulders & arms which isn't a big deal.
Enough typing... Time for Plyometrics, woohoo! <--sarcasm ;o)

OH. MY. GOODNESS.
I am almost certain that throwing "Plyometrics" on any resume would land you any job immediately.
That is one badass workout.
I look like I just stepped out of a pool.
Holy hell.
AND I wore my Easy Spirit "Girlfriend" shoes... the super tall squishy shoes that made me feel like I did the entire hour of Plyo in loose sand...
Silly me.
If I can do that, I can do ANYTHING. I feel so empowered ;o)

After a protein shake and some water...
Oh, and I definitely need to get another inhaler... my lungs physically hurt. Not good.

Day ummm.... Day............... 1! Yep, Pressing Play Again.
Wow, okay... After a 5 week break I am SO ready to do this thing.
Upon speaking to my buddy Michael today, I've decided to start P90x all over again. He had just started last week and hearing him talk about it inspired me to get moving.
I can keep making excuses and keep pushing it back until I close on the house, or until I'm done revamping the house, or until my 12 hour shifts are no longer 12 hours, etc... OR, I can just start today and see where it takes me.
Thanks, Michael! And thanks to others who left comments both on here and the Youtube channel, including you, "strange stalkerish 6'3 guy in the Northeast" :o)
Chest and Back & Ab Ripper.... BRING IT!
4:25 Update -
Okay, Ab Ripper was a lot tougher (and longer) than I remembered it to be.... I was only able to do about 20 reps for most of the exercises instead of the full 25. Sad.
My reps from Chest and Back have definitely gone down, but I'm still able to do "real" push ups, just about half as many reps as I ended on 5 weeks ago...
Upon comparing my reps to my round 1 of P90x I'm right where I was in week 4 or 5... which means I didn't lose it all. That's good. I'm still starting at week 1 though.... because of my own stubborn mind. :o) Time to dust off the bike and ride a few miles before I totally veg out tonight. It's a date night for everyone I talked to today, (not really everyone... seemed like it though)... As for me, I have a date with the couch and my snuggie and whatever movie I just happen to end up watching. Because that's how I roll.

It's been a month already?!
Yeah... my abs? They don't look like that ^ anymore...
Discouraging to say the least.
Oh well... I got the house!! :oD The closing is in a few days and I am excited, nervous, still in shock... a little bit of everything... but mostly excited.
The psychic nailed it... she did say I'd be moving out in 3 to 6 months and that was exactly 3 months ago... She also said I'd date an older man after I move out so we'll see ;o)
I went for a quick bike ride after work; quick because my Ipod was dead and I just can't get into it as much without my Guns N' Roses guitar solos.... lol. I'm charging my Ipod now hoping to start getting back into working out again now that I've beaten the plague. Hehe, lots of vitamin C from now on!!!

P90x Blog Turned Boring General Update Blog
.... So here we are.... another Sunday of sitting around recovering. I don't expect anyone to read this. Just typing to kill the time.
My back is still much better, but this cold has really knocked me down. The doctor prescribed an antihistamine, decongestant, antibiotic (for sinus infection), steroid nose spray, and some nose flushy thing. I hate taking meds, especially ones that make me feel like I'm floating 3 feet above ground, haha. I did manage to have a good week at work somehow. Maybe being half-drugged is what it takes to enjoy it.
I'm house sitting for the next two weeks (starting today) for someone who has a huge pool, a hot tub, and lives on a river with a dock. I am excited and yet maybe not ready to be completely alone in a huge house for two weeks with nothing to do but sit and think. Maybe it will be good for me. Who knows.
Ironically, the foreclosed house I made a cash offer on is on the same street as his... I've been waiting to hear from the bank for 2 weeks.... I really want this house. It "speaks to me" as Lauren would say. I get to drive by it everyday the next two weeks while house sitting, butterflies flying in my tummy each time. I really do hope I get it; it would be a fun project and at the same time a huge step in the right direction.
Here is a fat giraffe.

:o(
I am oh so sad.
Back still hurts (getting better) but now I have a bad cold (Again! Didn't I just have one a few weeks ago?!)
I have decided to take a break from p90x until I feel 100% up to it again instead of half-assing it ...
Also lots going on with finding a house, work, etc... my great granny's funeral is this Wednesday.... I'm just not into working out this week.
I may start back up in a couple days. I really hope to.
Only 3 weeks left!!

Day - Nothing
My back still hurts and I couldn't even get through the warm up of Plyo this morning without having to stop from the pain.
I don't know what to do.
I don't know what to do.

Day 72 - Plyo!
I am 4 days behind my schedule; I'm not going to kill myself to try to get back on schedule... If my last day is not June 21st it isn't the end of the world. I'd rather have good quality workouts rather than trying to rush them before the 21st. I am forcing myself to do plyometrics today although my back is really hurting the past few days. Gonna pop a Motrin and get to jumping.
I'm so exhausted. Work has been one big crazy mess the past week and it's about to get a whole lot worse next week....
Oh well. Onto Plyo.
5:33 pm Update -
I gave Plyometrics my best shot; the severity of my back pain is not allowing me to finish.... I got through the first 25 minutes and it would be stupid to continue to do this while in pain. Just silly.
So I'm going to lay back on my massage chair cushion thing for a little while and see if it loosens up the muscles enough to try again tomorrow. I'm disappointed in myself. I wish I could just do these workouts like I did the first 2 months....

Day 70 - Kenpo! Love it!
Woo! I thought I had Plyometrics today, but I'm glad I checked the schedule because I ate a plateful of pasta when I got home from work (terrible, I know) and didn't want to get sick from all the jumping; but it's not Plyo; it's KENPO!!

Day 69 - Why is This Becoming Increasingly More Difficult?
I didn't get home from work until 8:30 and by the time I finished eating and doing laundry it was 9:30... No time or energy for Kenpo. Sad. :o(
I am going to have to start waking up early and working out before work if I want to really finish the last few weeks of this.
Today was a pretty good day; I got new scrubs which is very exciting. It's the little things :o)

Day 68 - I'm Back, with Back and Biceps & Legs and Back
That was a really long break... I hadn't worked out in 4 or 5 days and there is no reason for it. I feel like I'm getting burnt out.
I just finished a solid round of Back and Biceps and am about to do Legs and Back. My reps were lower than last time; my right arm is doing some kind of creaky vibration thing on curls with the 12's. It didn't feel right :o/
OH and I don't want to jinx anything but I found a perfect house in my price range that I *might* be filling out paperwork for tonight even though it's a holiday. I'm so ready for this.
Legs and Back - BRING IT! :o)
7:06 pm Update -
Legs and Back went pretty well. I definitely "felt the burn" :o)
My new obsession - riding my bike as far and as fast as I can while blasting my mp3 player. Therapeutic beyond words.

Day 67 - Zzzzzzz........
It is 10:18 pm and I just got home from work. I am absolutely exhausted and can't even imagine trying to work out right now... I have to be back to work by 8:30 tomorrow.
This whole week is messed up as far as the workouts go... but I get an extra day with having Monday off from work for Memorial day to fit an extra workout or two in... I should be able to get back on track after the BBQ's and everything this weekend.
After all that my favorite client didn't even come in today :o( But it was a good day nonetheless.
'Night!!!

Day 66 - Thoughts
As I sit here waiting for the realtor to call, I got to thinking.... I did not start this blog to show off, or to be proof of how big or tough I can be...and I am not by any means putting too much focus on this workout; in fact, my main focus right now is getting back to where I left off 4 years ago (mentally and financially)... After all, I am getting close to 30 and I never thought I would be in the living situation I am in at this point in my life (guess this is what happens when you constantly sacrifice for someone else for 3 years)... BUT, when I get a comment from someone saying I have no physical improvement from this workout and suggests that I try harder, it stings.
I always put 100% effort into things, because if you're going to do something you might as well do it right... For a split second after reading that comment, I thought..."Well, maybe I am wasting my time with this..." But no, I'm not.
People start P90X for different reasons; for me, it gives me a chance to clear my head every night and feel like I'm accomplishing something. Coming home after an 11 or 12 hour workday to work out for 90 minutes isn't easy, but I'm FINALLY putting myself first and doing something for me. I don't spend money on manicures or massages, I don't drink or do drugs to unwind - working out is my escape. I don't care that I don't look like some kind of body builder after 60 days.
And for the record, I DO feel an improvement... and the fact that I started with 3 lb weights and now I'm using 12's for the same exercises makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something. I need that right now because even though I live in a house full of people who care about me I'm the loneliest I've ever been in my life and if I have Tony Horton to keep me company while motivating me every night and I can unwind and feel myself getting stronger that's what matters.

Day 65 - Taking Wednesday Night Off Is Becoming A Habit
It's just so easy to take the night off when I have the whole day off from work tomorrow to do whatever I want, which means two workouts. I hope that doesn't affect the results...
Work was draining today anyway... I started the day with lots of energy (maybe overdid it on the coffee.... it doesn't take more than a cup) and ended with pretty much falling asleep on the drive home 11 hours later. Corporate decided to make this upcoming Friday a huge sale day so when I wasn't running around working with clients face to face while encouraging them to swing in Friday for the sale, I was calling clients on the phone to tell them all about the sale. I pretty much lost my voice toward the end of the day and didn't even take a lunch, now that I think about it.... I should sleep well tonight :o)
I have an appointment with a Realtor to look at a house tomorrow morning, but after that I will do Plyo and Back & Biceps.

....I have got to start eating healthy again.... I met a good friend for Mexican food tonight and man was it good.....! Ever since day 60 my food choices have not been so good, though. I am going to get back on track starting tomorrow.

Oooo Kenpo, how I love you.
I'm toying with the idea of going to the beach after Kenpo and bike...
I've been feeling nauseous off and on all day... A dose of Vitamin D may help, says Christine :o)
Let's hope so.

Day 61 - Legs and Back & Ab Ripper X
What a surprisingly great day at work... I needed it.
I added a playlist over to the right of my blogger page... exciting, no? Feel free to listen while browsing through my accounts of self-inflicted pain.
I picked up some whey protein shake mix the other day; Now all I need is a small blender so I can make smoothies. What I really want is a blender bottle (with the blender ball) but I'm not sure where to find them other than online...
Oh well.... A fork works for now :o)
My goal is to drink a whey protein shake before each workout involving muscles and some sort of "food" protein (like eggs or cottage cheese) to see if I can build quicker.
I'm still not feeling 100% after being sick the other day.... Looking forward to doing nothing other than curling up on the couch for the next day and a half!!
(I had been doing mason twist with 5 lb weights..... I tried it with 12's today and think I may continue with the 12's to FEEL THE BURN! teehee)

Day 60 - Pictures and Stats
Measurements - 5/19/10
Waist 25½
Hips 37¾
Thighs 20¾
Arm 9½ (10½ while flexed)
Weight: 128
BMI: 19.4
I don't see too much of a difference; the biggest improvement is definitely my booty...
I guess I look more "compact" than I did at day one... definitely a little thinner which surprises me, actually. I thought for sure my legs were going to look like Pam the blam's after all those weighted lunges...
However, I'm extremely happy with the results so far.
60 days - DONE.
I am celebrating with brownies :-)
(After all, I deserve *something* after bearing my body for all to see!)

Day 59 - Best Dream Ever
Last night I had a dream that I could do pull ups. :-) Thank you, Theraflu... for such an awesome dream.

Day 58 - No Plyo, Just Me and My Theraflu
I managed to avoid getting sick this entire year; until now. I was feeling extremely tired the past couple days, and this morning I woke up with a sore throat and body chills. I am sipping on some Theraflu waiting for Modern Family (in the Snuggie of course) hoping to feel better tomorrow. No work tomorrow so it will be a good day to veg out.

Day 57 - Owwie
Apparently not doing Chest and Back for a month makes it feel like the first time again... My arms are puffy again which I love and I KNOW I will be hurting tomorrow.
I did so many more reps of everything this time around than I left off with doing in week 3; and my push ups were real this time around since I started doing "real" ones on week 5. Exciting, right?!
Ab Ripper is much easier now, too, I'm noticing...
SO excited to do Plyometrics tomorrow night.
I know... I'm crazy. :-p But really, this workout is a great stress release each day and I am to the point where I look forward to it each night.

Day 55 - Loving This Weather
I need to invest in some longer shorts :-/ An hour of biking can be conducive to inner thigh rashes...
67 Minutes Bike
Max: 176
Avg: 146
Calories Burned: 563
It is HOT out! And I'm loving every second of it. I'm going to try running for the first time in months... It should be interesting to see if there is any difference after this P90X journey. (I hate running!)
12:30 pm Update -
10 Minute Run
Max HR: 181
Avg HR: 158
Calories Burned: 93
That was really tough. I shouldn't have gone running when it is so hot out, but if I don't do it now I'm definitely not going to want to after I shower and cuddle up in my Snuggie on the couch (which is going to happen right after Yoga)
While running I felt as if I were not even moving... I will never again ride my bike *then* go running afterward, haha - the harder I pushed the shorter my legs felt.
It feels good to push this hard; and actually want to push this hard. I've definitely been having my "off" days... This has been a good weekend. Hopefully I can keep pushing as hard in week 9.

Day 53 & 54 - Stretch X and Core Synergistics
I'm a bad girl. I know. I said no more skipping workouts and here I am three days later skipping workouts again :(
I have a good excuse though... I had one of those migraine-type headaches again last night... It hit me while I was at work around 4:00 in the afternoon and didn't go away until I went to sleep despite all the Motrin and rubbing out my knots in my shoulders. I've been getting those headaches often for the past month or so and I'm not sure why, but I wish they'd stop. Maybe I should see a doctor... Who knows. Or I should get a massage... but saving money for a down payment on a house is a priority right now... OD'ing on Motrin will have to continue for now unless I have any massage volunteers ;-)
So, today will be both Stretch X AND Core Syn again, which is okay, because I probably need a good stretch after work today anyway, and I remember Core Synergistics not seeming as hard the 2nd time during the first recovery week.
I am going to have to make some changes with the diet... I was SO hungry at work yesterday that I ate two extra protein supplements and extra cheese... And after calculating my protein, I realized I am doing much more than I thought I was - between 120 and 130 grams, which is ideal for my weight, apparently.
Yesterday's food:
8:00 - Hard Boiled egg
8:00 - 6 Strawberries
9:00 - Protein bar
11:00 - 4 Strawberries
1:00 - Chicken sandwich on 45 calorie bread
2:00 - 1/2 cup cucumbers with ACV
2:00 - cheese stick
3:00 - Protein bar
3:00 - Melba toast
4:00 - Salad (2 cups)
5:00 - cheese stick
Yeah, by 5:30 I was crazy hungry so when I got home at 8:00 pm I had an egg on a bagel... a large bagel...:( Aaaand.... I may or may not have had some cheez-its too..... :(
Ugh.
It's just not enough food.
I need to pick up some Casein protein to take at night (as recommended by my favorite client... you know who you are) when GNC has their next Gold card sale next month... After doing a little research online the best choice seems to be Optimum Nutrition 100% Casein... I need some whey too... In the meantime I am going to keep cutting down on the salt and carbs and upping the protein so I can lean out (finally seeing my triceps under that layer of water weight after 3 days of the diet was more exciting than you'll ever know) but I will definitely incorporate more food into what I was allowing myself to eat.
Time for some stretching!
9:02 pm Update -
Tomorrow is Stretch X or Rest; I am definitely not going to skip out on a workout tomorrow....I am planning on waking up early and riding my bike with the sunrise. Besides, I can't skip, I have 60 day pics coming up, heh... which I'll really post this time since there is a little improvement.
Today's workouts went okay. I had my HR monitor on during Core Synergistics, but apparently it wasn't working throughout half of the workout so I didn't' have an accurate calorie count to post. Stretch X felt like a waste of time. :-/ I'm sure it wasn't. :-)
Ha. I just received a text message that just read "Hell"
Then I got an "oops". Haha.
<3 you, girl.
You know... I want to thank everyone for the support during this P90x torture.... I don't get many comments on my blogs but to those who actually read these and offer me support when I see you, it helps more than you know. It's been becoming increasingly more difficult to stick with this as the days go on.... but the encouraging words make a difference! So, thank you.

Day 51 - ......Will Happen Tomorrow
I am off from work tomorrow which gives me an entire day to do both Core Syn and Kenpo.
Food Diary
8:00 - HB egg
10:00 - Apple
11:15 - QWL Fudge Graham Protein Bar
1:00 - Cucumber
2:00 - 1/4 Turkey Sub
4:00 - Salad with ACV

8:00 - Publix Sushi, Cream Cheese Roll (bad!)
8:30 - QWL Mocha Pudding Protein supplement
My total calories for the day...? 1,642
86 grams of protein... not bad.
I felt good today... I was worried about eating less starches than I'm used to because hypoglycemia will set in if I don't have carbs, but the only time I was hungry was before lunch at 4:00, and before getting home from work at 8:00.

Day 50 - Yoga X...? Or Chest, Shoulders & Triceps...?
Um. So apparently, today is the beginning of recovery week. I was warming up and all set to start Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps when I looked down at my worksheet and there is no week 8... Ha. So yeah, this is actually day 1 of my 2nd recovery week which I didn't realize until just now. However, (and no, this is not an excuse to skip yoga ;-) I am going to re-do chest, shoulders and tri's because last week when I attempted to do it I had a migraine and literally did up to the plange push ups (which is the 4th exercise in the workout) before quitting and I never did that workout again last week.
Yoga will have to wait.
I had a big fat plate of pasta for dinner so I'll have to burn it off with tomorrow's Core Syn :)
9:04 pm Update -
I just finished Chest, Shoulders and Tri's and I just want to say; I LOVE the way this workout makes my arms feel. They feel puffy and numb... and call me crazy, but I love it :) Lying Tricep extensions has got to be the most effective tricep workout I've ever done... Even though I can only really do 5 good ones before my arm gives out, they really work *just* my triceps, and do a damn good job of it.
10:21 pm Update -
You know, after doing some thinking about how I've been pushing hard for 50 days and my thighs STILL touch, I decided to follow a very strict diet for the next week or two. I work at Quick Weight Loss, there is no reason I can't follow the QWL diet for at least a week to see what happens. I don't need to lose weight; no no... I just need to focus on eating more balanced. Carbs have made up about 75% of my pie chart of daily foods the past few months and that's no good. I have 1/2 of a turkey sub I didn't finish today that's on white bread, but after that, I'm going to be on track with the foods I choose to eat.
I am currently weighing in between 131 and 135 (5 to 9 lbs up from when I started P90X and 12 to 16 lbs up from when I gave up on the Vegetarian thing months prior) and I'm really happy with that. I'm not looking to lose "weight" per se, because when I weight 119 as a veggie I looked sickly.... I just seriously need to cut the junk food out of my diet so my thighs are no longer conjoined. "Cricket legs" is what my ex used to call his. No more cricket legs for this chick :-)
Oh, and a couple people have asked why I didn't put up the "30 day" pictures that I took; I avoided giving an answer... Well, the reason is because my thighs still touch and because of that I am disappointed.
I will be keeping a food journal and will try to post it daily.... Again, as self motivation.
My daily Cheez-Its will be waiting for me at the end of the tunnel :-)

Day 48 - Kenpo X
Kenpo X
Max HR: 169
Avg HR: 128
Calories Burned: 351
My heart rate was *much* lower than normal during today's entire hour of Kenpo... which has me confused because I was working just as hard and sweating just as much as usual. Every time I looked down and saw how low it was I would push even harder. Weird.
Tomorrow is my rest day... maybe I'll try Kenpo again depending on how I feel.
Here is the video from yesterday's Legs and Back workout.

Day 47 - Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X
Am I on week 7? Really?? I went to mark my pull ups on my sheet and apparently yes, I'm on week 7 which blows my mind. This will be over before I know it... I may do another 90 day round once I finish the first 90 days depending on my results... For now I'm focusing on today... and today was a decent workout. My abs were sore during ab ripper which was unusual, but I welcome any kind of soreness because it means the workouts are effective.
I videotaped some of today's workout... I'd work on the video to post to YouTube right now but I'm actually going out tonight... crazy, right? I need it... the whole "work, come home, work out, go to bed, wake up do it all over again" thing is getting old ...So the video will have to wait until tomorrow.
I'm so glad the weekend is here. Later, kids.

Day 46 - Yoga
Yoga was tough tonight. I skipped some of the poses just to get through it quickly because it was getting late... My mom did Yoga with me and did a great job for never doing yoga before; much better than I did the first time.
It felt good to stretch after a long day of work but my balance seemed less controlled than normal.
Back to Psych Week on the Discover Health channel and then sleepies.

Day 44 (again) and 45 - Plyometrics and Back & Biceps
Plyometrics (round 2)
Max HR: 183
Avg HR: 148
Calories Burned: 559
That's better.
I still have to do Back and Biceps but my brother has a band over that he's recording and well, seeing that the pull up bar is in his doorway... um... yeah. Unless I were to take my assistant manager's advice about my brother's single 20 year old friends, that will just have to wait.
It's reeeeally hot out, but I'm going to ride my bike around for a little bit while I wait for the band to leave.
I would like to pay homage to my little Honeywell fan... Without you, fan, I surely would not make it past the first round of 'Circle Run'...
As I jump and bounce like a jackrabbit on crack, your little blades spin and spin and never stop. I am, and forever will be, your biggest, um... fan.
:-p
5:29 pm Update -
I just finished Back and Biceps and I am very proud to say that I have moved up to 12 lb weights. I did the entire workout with 12's... I have weak little arms so 12 is a huge improvement.
I was unable to do any of my "low bar" pull ups because that band is STILL here 5 hours later, but I'm okay with that because I don't think I could do any anyway... I really pushed with the weights and can hardly hold my arms up over the keyboard to type, heh. I'm going to feel this in the morning... But that's a good thing, right?

Day 44 - You Know... It's Just Cruel to Make A Man With a Prosthetic Leg Do "Hot Foot"...
I am beat.
Plyometrics
Max HR: 176
Avg HR: 142
Calories Burned: 423
Back and Biceps tomorrow... I may do Plyo again because 423 calories is pathetic. I did find myself yawning throughout a lot of the workout... I did my best.
I have yet to buy the recovery drink, but I have been using this Magnesium Plus "Ionic Fizz" powder that my manager swears by for muscle relief... It does seem to help my back pain so I've been taking it on a regular basis the past few days. I almost couldn't swallow it the first time because it was so bitter, but now I'm addicted and I love the way it relaxes me after a long day at work. Get yours today ;-)

Day 40 - Can You Believe It?!
Wow... Just about 6 weeks into this and almost halfway through! It's gone by fast so far... Definitely doesn't feel like I've been doing it for 40 days.
I am doing Kenpo later today but first I wanted to share some interesting experiences I've had online the past couple of days. It's not often that I get a chance to sit around a play online, by the way. My work schedule has me by the you-know-whats and doesn't leave much free time. So, after waking up today around (you ready for this?!) NOON, I decided to hop online and look at some before and after P90X videos. I saw one of the suggestions on the side titled something like "Watch me shrink, week 5"... I clicked out of curiosity, and it was a girl standing in a bikini talking about how she was starving herself to lose weight for summer. Really, now. Then I saw over to the right side "Watch me shrink: Before" So I clicked to see how this girl had progressed with her onset of anorexia in the 5 weeks, and it was a completely different girl! I found many girls on YouTube doing this same kind of food restriction to get thin before summer, most of which are doing zero exercise (one girl even responded to a comment suggesting she exercise to tighten up her flabby waist she complained about by saying "Ha, exercise?! I'm too lazy.") That irritates me.
I work for a company who promotes weight loss without exercise. Upon starting working for this particular company, I thought that was a little um... yeah... Anyway, now I encourage the clients to workout. There are so many benefits to it (both physical and mental!) Why wouldn't you?? Because like the YouTube girl said, laziness? That is a terrible excuse.
People constantly comment on my thinness, and how I must have good genes, or starve myself, and they need to stfu, because it's neither. I work hard at it... And they can too. Anyone can.
Another thing (while I'm on this topic) no healthy person should complain how "fat" they think they are if they are doing nothing to work on it; such as eating fast food all the time, or brushing off any sort of physical activity... They have no right to whine and complain. It's not going to disappear on it's own. I give people who make a little effort a ton of credit.
Ha. Okay enough of that. Maybe I am just bitter that I slept half the day away. Anyway, I feel better now... ha.
The other thing I wanted to share was a website that I'm falling in love with, www.myfitnesspal.com.
It's great; you track what you eat and it automatically breaks down the foods into the amount of protein, fat, sodium, etc... It's wonderful. What makes this site different than other calorie counting sites is that it saves all your days in a diary format, and it has every single food you can think of; even my employer's supplements we carry. I'm trying to increase my protein, so it's interesting to see the difference in the amount of protein compared to how I used to eat (I sure do love my carbs)
Time for some laundry and Kenpo.
4:18 pm Update:
Kenpo X
Max HR: 186
Avg HR: 142
Calories Burned: 615 (!!!!!)
I have migrated to a new workout spot... Thanks to my brother's technological expertise, I was able to hook my netbook up to the living room tv. (So much more room!!) I also had a workout partner today, my mom is going to start P90X Phase 1 on Tuesday but wanted to try Kenpo to see if she could hang. She did great!!
I'm working on a quick video on Kenpo X as requested by one of my YouTube peeps... I burned a ton more calories than usual during today's Kenpo; maybe because I knew the camera was on....? ;-p hehe j/k.

Days 38 & 39 - I Really Gotta Get Caught Up
Yoga (blah) and Legs & Back today. Tomorrow is Kenpo and after that I made a promise to myself that I will catch up on my workouts so I can stop this doubling up thing. I'm guessing that the workouts aren't even as effective when skipping days then doubling them up.
6:50 pm Update -
I just finished with all 3 workouts (yoga, legs & back and *surprise!* ab ripper!) I completely forgot about ab ripper. I'm beat... Yoga was pretty much half-assed; I'll be honest. I pushed hard on Legs and Back & Ab Ripper though.
I somehow got my mom to try some of the exercises with me and she did great for her first time, and really great for not being able to go to the gym in a few months. Go mama!
Now going for a quick spin on my bike and then coming home to shower and curl up in my Snuggie to watch a (hopefully good) movie. Don't judge me. ;-p

Day 36 & 37 - "It's called ab-rip-per-X"
So.... Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps, Ab Ripper X, AND Plyo in the same day. Am I nuts? Sure am.
I skipped a couple days so I definitely need to catch up and what better time to do so than on my day off.
I just finished Chest, Shoulders, & Tri's and Ab Ripper and I'm about to start Plyometrics then try to walk around the mall with my cousin. Anyone own a pair of crutches I can borrow?
Update-
Plyometrics
Max HR: 183
Avg HR: 157
Calories Burned: 555 (make a wish)
I was getting really weak toward the end around the first set of Monster Truck Tires... My legs were shaky and just, weak. I finished the whole thing though but the end wasn't as strong as the beginning.
I've been nauseous everyday for the past couple of weeks throughout most of the day... It's one of three things: stress, the protein supplements (I increased from one a day to two a day), or pushing myself too hard during the workouts. That two workouts in one day thing really kills me... I need to focus on getting one in everyday without skipping days. It's becoming increasingly more difficult to get one in everyday because work has been a HUGE source of stress for me the past couple weeks... To come home from 12 hours of mental abuse to go through an hour and a half of physical abuse is a lot. I'm doing the best I can.

Day 35...Again - Another Night Off
Work today was bad to the point that I'm surprised I stayed and kept my calm all day. Needless to say, there is no way I'm going to make this a quality workout. Tri's will have to wait until tomorrow.

Day 35 - Rest!
I went for a quick ride on my bike after work and now I plan on catching up on some much needed sleep. Damn storm.
I bought a bunch of protein supplements from work at a really good price since the owner was there and approved it. Score. I think I will go have one now...
My legs and booty are the most sore they've been yet; I think doing Kenpo and Legs in the same day was overload; but the soreness makes me feel like I've worked hard so I welcome it.
Tomorrow is Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps... and of course, Ab Ripper. Bring it.

Day 32 - Yoga X
I don't like yoga... and it's recently hit me as to why... It's boring. It is long (an hour and a half) and it's the same moves, over and over and over and overrrr... It does cause me to "feel the burn" though, as Tony Horton would say, so I don't skip it. I just don't like the lack of variety and the fact that I'm falling every couple minutes. I'm going to do two workouts in one day at some point this weekend to get back to where I was before skipping a day from that migraine the other day.
I think I'll do Legs & Back, Ab Ripper, and Kenpo tomorrow since I have all day off from work.
I'm seriously starting to love how my body is taking shape... It's like a work of art that's slowly (very slowly) being sculpted over a period of a few months; It's been worth every drop of sweat (and a few tears along the way)
It's the first year I have not been dreading summer!

Day 31 - Back and Biceps, Ab Ripper X
You'd figure that a bad day at work would make me want to come home and just tear this workout up to relieve some frustration, right? It had the complete opposite effect... I had to pep-talk myself into doing tonight's workout and let me tell you, it wasn't an easy decision.
I took last night off from P90x because I had a migraine all day (I hadn't had red wine in years and completely forgot it causes me to have migraines) and today's workout was decent considering that I was this close (_) to going straight to bed after work.
My arms are puffy and shaky from working my biceps which I love... My abs are wrecked though. Those hip flexors of mine have been on fire lately during the ab ripper and I don't know if maybe I'm doing something wrong...? Who knows.
Time for a shower and catching up on last night's episode of Sober House :)
Half day of work tomorrow!:)

I videotaped most of my workout to see exactly how my form is, and it's not too bad... I need some help on the Mary Katherine lunges (I lost my balance a couple of times) but so do the people on the video so I don't feel so bad :)

Day 29 - Chest, Shoulders & Triceps
Can I just again say how excited I am that I can do PUSH UPS!!! I am proud say I was able to complete tonight's workout with real push ups during the entire thing... until it came to the one arm push ups... those required the knees. However, the rest of the push ups were real; I swear! :)
Tomorrow is Plyometrics, so I'm relieved it's on a day I'm off from work so I can really give it my all.
My right triceps is very "stiff" again like it was when I strained it during the very first week... I hope that I didn't hurt it again. Like I said before; I'll just overwork the left one so they are even ;-)

Day 27 - End of the First Month
I am as excited about moving onto month two as I was starting the entire program because of the whole theory of muscle confusion... I should start to see more of a difference after month two. Prior to starting the program, I had looked at many before and after P90x pictures online and in most of them, it seemed that the major changes do not happen until after month one. I myself didn't experience many changes in the first 30 days; although I do see a difference in my boo-tay... also my abs seem more toned and my calves look bigger...
Progress
1. My heart rate comes down MUCH quicker than it did a month ago
2. I am lifting more weight and increasing reps each week
3. I am ALWAYS hungry
4. More energy throughout the day
5. A more positive mood
6. Sleeping better
7. More conscious of what I eat
8. Taking more showers (ha)
9. Drinking more water throughout the day
10. My body is changing rapidly
11. Daily EFA's have made my skin so smooth (!)
12. Lower resting pulse
13. I CAN DO PUSH UPS!!!!!!!
There are so many positive changes already, and it's only been one month. I can't imagine the amount of progress at day 90.... or day 120!

Day 26 - Core Synergistics AGAIN??
Well, all I have to say is, BRING IT.
I am SO ready for today's workout. I've had lots of protein both yesterday and today and I'm feeling good (despite only getting a few hours of sleep last night due to the warm temperature in my room... :-/)
I had my shin taped all day and it feels *much* better
I'm quite proud of today's meal plan so far...
Breakfast: apple
Mid morning snack: Protein shake
Lunch: Protein bar
Mid afternoon: Protein bar and 4 oz chicken breast (with a little wing sauce) :-p
Dinner: Brown rice and a large salad
Measurements - 4/17/10
Waist 26

Day 25 - :(
My body is rebelling.
It started with shin splints and now my plantar fasciitis in my right foot is flaring up ... My shins were hurting so badly today (both, but the left was worse than the right) that I avoided any unnecessary walking or standing. I have ice on them now hoping it will help but it's actually making them more painful for some reason.
When researching it online, I found a way to tape them...
...however, I don't have any sports tape. I'll have to pick some up tomorrow, I suppose.
This is frustrating, but I'm so glad that it's recovery week. I don't feel as guilty for not following it 100%.
Maybe I need new shoes?? The ones I have now are not very old..... Hmm.....
I was supposed to do Stretch X tonight which may have possibly helped with the pain but I just did not have the energy. I'll do my best this weekend.

Day 24 - Kenpo X
What did I take from today's Kenpo hour? ...That I wouldn't want to anger the Montel Williams-looking guy in the back of the room... No no... Those are the type of people you want to make friends with.
I noticed that although I'm still burning about the same amount of calories, Kenpo is seeming *much* easier than it was a few weeks ago... and that makes me very happy. :)

I'm going to go for a bike ride since it's so nice outside... it'd be a shame to waste the last days of cooler weather before it gets to be hot and muggy everyday. It's windy too, so I'll be sure to use my HR monitor and see what I get.
After being stuck in a rut for a few days, I am officially back on track.

Now it's time for some sushi :)

Day 23 - Core Syner-holycrapicannotbreathe-gistics
So...
Core Syn was tough.... It's up there with Plyometrics, actually. Even Mr. Horton seemed quite sullen throughout the entire hour... strange.

The good news tonight- I did many *real* push ups during this workout and prior to tonight I didn't think I could do more than a few! Woohoo!!

Day 22 - Another Blah Workout
I'm getting frustrated with myself. I just finished Yoga (or what I could finish, anyway... about 2/3 of it) and I'm going to get a shower and go to bed... I had a crazy day (having to leave for a 2 hour drive at 6:00 am this morning for a manager's meeting was not fun) so yoga is just going to have to be left unfinished until next time.
I will get back on this 100% again. I have to.
Once I set my mind to something, there is no stopping me... (hence the frustration with myself the past few days)... But I WILL get refocused.

So sleepy... :(
I *almost* didn't get up to do Kenpo this morning... Somehow I was able to get up and do it, but it definitely wasn't 110%. I'm yawning as I type this, even.
I wasn't able to fall asleep until late last night so I knew waking up to work out would be difficult. I'll do better tomorrow... :-/

I OWNED That Ice Skating Rink ;-)
Oh what an incredible weekend this has been... It's really a shame that it's coming to an end...
I wasn't going to go ice skating because of my sore back but once I saw how much fun everyone seemed to be having I ended up renting a pair and trying it out... I'm so glad I did! What a blast. And no injuries!!!! It was challenging to even stand on the ice at first, but after a little while I was flying around the rink and keeping up with my cousin Laurie (who was a natural!)
The sad news is that I was left with no time to do Kenpo... however, tomorrow is my "off" day so I'm going to get up early and get it done before work.
Then onto recovery week; which I was told is not really much of a recovery week at all... I haven't had time to peek at the schedule yet but part of me secretly hopes it is 6 days of X stretch... :-p I highly doubt that is the case. :)

Day 19 - 3:33... Make a Wish
That was, hands down, THE best P90x workout so far.
Legs & Back and Ab Ripper. WHEW that was just crazy.
I have eaten terribly the past couple of days (Indian food, cake, some cheesy bacon croissant thing, more cake, ice cream cake, etc)... so I *really* had to push today.
Time for a cold shower (which I never take; they are always hot, so you know I worked hard when I want a cold one!!) and then I have to get ready to go out and get my eat on (again).
Ice skating in Kissimmee tomorrow, so let's hope for no injuries!!

Day 18 - What Do I Want for My Birthday? It's a Secret...
I had yoga this morning and let me tell you... I am nowhere near as coordinated at 6:30 am as I am after a full day of coffee and waking up. I had no balance whatsoever and kept coming out of the poses... And to be quite honest, I fast forwarded through some of the poses for two reasons: 1. I didn't think I'd have time to get ready for work since yoga is an hour and half long and I didn't wake up early enough, and 2. I didn't want to do more damage to my back than what has already been done.
I need to find a chiropractor who won't charge me an arm and a leg. I would go to the chiropractor I've been going to for six years, but the last time I was there they told me that my annual plan was up and shoved a $2000 care plan at me. Apparently insurance won't help cover the cost. That was 3 months ago and obviously I haven't been back since. ($2000... now I know how our clients at work feel)
I am so ready forcrawling back into bed, um, I mean, the day! Just so ready for this day... (to be over) :-p
Have a happy Friday, everyone.

Day 16 & 17 - I'm a Silly, Silly Girl...
Due to my skipping a day yesterday, I now have Plyometrics, Shoulders and Arms, and Ab Ripper X in the same day. Yikes. I wanted to merge two workout days into one today because I'm off from work so it is *much* easier to get two of them them in on a day off than when one I'm working for 12 hours.
However, I would have liked to reserve Plyometrics on a day when I don't have any other workouts... I'm just glad it's not Plyometrics and then Legs! :)
I somehow hurt my back yesterday... I was sitting with a client at some point in the morning and out of nowhere my entire lower back just tightened and clenched up... serious muscle spasms... I excused myself and limped into the back room where I proceeded to helplessly cry as visions of me being in bed for 3 days filled my head until a coworker came in. My manager gave me some Magnesium powder mix that made me almost gag and I also took a few Motrin... and you know what, after lying flat on my back for about 30 minutes with my knees up I started to feel better. Glad that's over...
On a lighter note... I'M SO GLAD I'M OFF FROM WORK TODAY. True story.
I'm sure I'll update after the workouts (or in between if I'm really hurting) ;-)

Okay, so I just finished Plyometrics... I either forgot how hard it was, or am suddenly out of shape. That was REALLY tough! Wow. At one point when he said his heart rate was 153, I looked down at my watch and mine was 173!! I promised myself (and my blog readers) last week's Plyometrics was just a trial run because I didn't want to burn myself out halfway though... well, this week, I guess I really pushed.
Plyometrics
Max HR: 207
Avg HR: 158
Calories Burned: 655
Not too shabby.
The only move I couldn't do was the rockstar jump one; the first time my feet kicked up my back pain came back... So I skipped that one. Surprisingly my back was okay on the rest of them and should be okay for arms and shoulders... I'm not too sure about abs but I'm going to try.
Next week is a recovery week, so this week has got to be hardcore. I'm going to take the bike out for a spin around the block a few times and come back and do shoulders and arms and ab ripper... Update to follow.

Quick update: I finished Shoulders and Arms with ease (I think it's time to increase the amount of weight again!) :) And then went for another spin on my bike. I'm beat....!

Day 15 - Chest and Back, Ab Ripper - Week 3
Hmmm... Well, my fake *knee* push-ups definitely decreased this week... However, my reps with the weights (and the amount of weight itself) increased which is great. I wasn't able to utilize the pull-up bar because my brother is sleeping and I'm sure the last thing he wants is me huffing & puffing out some chair pull-ups in his doorway at 6:30 am, ha.
Ab Ripper X... again, getting easier each time, but I did feel very nauseous about halfway through again. Hmm....
Waking up at 6 is getting much easier so I'm going to continue with working out in the mornings... An accomplishment within itself.
Have a happy Tuesday... Just think, we're one day closer to Friday :) (and recovery week!!)

Day 14 - Why, Hello There Shin Splints...
Ow. This is new. Nothing a little Stretch X and a bag of ice can't fix :)
Quote of the day "Can you do Crane pose?"
HA!
Thank you for the laugh. :)
No... No I can't. Not even close. (not yet!)

The Early Bird Catches the Worm... No Worm; I Just Want Sleep.
6:00 am is not as bad as it was the other day; and hey, I even got to see the shuttle go up this morning. It is about 7:45 as I type this now and I'm sleepy but hoping I wake up more as the morning goes on and this coffee gets in my system.
I don't know if you give "shout outs" in blogs, but I want to give a shout out to James (I know you are reading this) who started exactly a week after me... Remind yourself how worth it this will all be in a couple months when you're flexing in every mirror you pass... Well, actually, don't do that... but you know what I mean :) And just think; sneaky lunges not only teach you how to sneak up on someone while flexing every single muscle in your body right down to your toes, but how to look good while doing it. Keep up the great work, homeboy.
I didn't work out this morning (shame on me) because it's only stretch X and I'm kind of looking forward to doing that before bed because it's very relaxing. (Or maybe I was just too tired this morning... heh) ;-)
Have a great day, everyone.

Day 13 - Strange...
I just finished Kenpo X and didn't burn nearly as many calories as I did last week and I'm wondering if it's because I didn't start my HR monitor until after the stretching warm up this time. I was really pushing it, too... strange that it wasn't as many calories or more.
Because it was such a lame amount of calories I'm going to take my bike around the block a couple times to make up for it.

Day 12 - Legs and Back (x 2)
Waking up at 6:00 am is ridiculously difficult for me... I managed to do it this morning; however, my workout was pretty sad, so I'm going to re-do the whole thing this afternoon. Especially since my legs are my main focus.
I made it through the entire hour of legs and back and even ab ripper (yay!) but I was burning out after a few reps of each exercise from being so tired. Hopefully I get used to this whole being up an hour before sunrise thing. :)
*edit- I just did Legs and Back for a second time today AND rode 5 miles on my bike!! Feeling good!!!!!!!!!

Day 10 & 11 - Shoulders & Arms, Ab Ripper X, and Yoga?! Oh My!!
I took last night off because I was exhausted to the point where I was not going to be able to perform 110% and I would rather wait until the next day when I can have a quality workout.
I have been staying up until 1:00 or 2:00 am even... I blame it on working out after work so late at night. So... I made the decision to just tough it out and to start getting up at 5:30 am to work out (ouch)... :)
I was off today (until they called me in during the middle of my ab ripper routine) so I made myself get up at 7:15 to work out just to break myself in a little. Tomorrow though; I'm getting up at 6:00 for legs and back.
At least maybe I'll be able to fall asleep easier at night.
As far as week two goes, so far I'm impressed with myself. For the most part, I'm doing more reps than I was during week one... which is pretty damn cool.

Day 9 - PLYOMETRICS!
Wow.
That was serious.
I decided to forget Cardio X and just go for it with Plyometrics and got through the entire thing (injury free!)... :)
I had to take one extra break but I made it through... I'm so excited because I'm sure it will only get easier from here.
Max HR: 182
Avg HR: 161
Calories burned: 474 (?)
I didn't push as hard as I could have because I didn't know what to expect... I didn't want to burn myself out within the first half. I can guarantee I will have burned many more calories in the next round of plyometrics.
Me and my shaky legs are going to get something to eat!!!

Day 8 - Blah.
Chest, Back, & Ab Ripper X...
I'm really not feeling working out tonight... Didn't have the best day at work and toward the evening I started to get a headache and feel really tired. I'm just absolutely exhausted.
I'm going to push tonight though, to a point... If I start the workout and I really don't feel up to it I'm going to just start it tomorrow when I'm (hopefully) feeling better.
*edit- Whew. That was tough! I've doubled the amount of weight I used and doubled my reps from week 1 which is great but I did less "chair" pull ups and chin ups than I did week 1.
Long term goal: To be able to do ONE pull up without a chair :-p
Still not feeling well... Hopefully I'm refreshed for tomorrow'sPlyometrics Cardio X.

Day 7 - Stretch X
I was planning on skipping Stretch X tonight like a bad girl, but my coworker explained how helpful it is with sore muscles and recovering so I decided to just bite the bullet and forfeit my night off for some light yoga... I'm so glad I did.
I feel like jelly... I yawned almost continuously through the entire hour because it was so damn relaxing :) Ready for a hot shower and some sleep! :)
Oh, and update on the weight and measurements...
My weight was 130 today... up a few pounds since starting, and my measurements were slightly different as well... I was up about a half inch in my thighs and 3/4 of an inch in my arms (!!!) yet down in my waist and my hips stayed exactly the same. It's only been a week and already making progress. Lovin' it. <3

Day 6 - Kenpo X
Kenpo X, my favorite workout so far!!
It didn't go by as quickly as I thought it would, but now that I'm all warmed up and stretched out I'm going to take a quick jog around the block just for fun.... especially since I have the day off from p90x tomorrow, I feel like I want to really push it today.
Kenpo X
Max HR: 184
Avg HR: 159
Calories burned: 457
My right upper arm is unusually larger the past few days... I measured it and it's just over 10 inches (that is a whole inch bigger than it was before the chest and back workout on Tuesday)... My right triceps is still pretty sore and swollen... hopefully it goes down before Tuesday (arms and shoulders workout) rolls around.
Quote of the day: "Wesley only bleeds on the inside!"
*edit- That was FANTASTIC! I forgot how much better working out is with music... Slapped on my earbuds and blasted some Prince and took off... Burned just under 200 more calories in a 12 minute jog. Love it. Now I'm going to fix myself a huge salad with lots of veggies and a couple hard boiled eggs for lunch.
*edit #2- Here is (was) my salad :)

Day 5 - Legs and Back & Ab Ripper X
Ooooo this workout was tough...
I hate wall squats... but they work :-/
My abs hurt more than usual after ab ripper x tonight, too. Either I really pushed or I'm getting burnt out already... I'm only in week one, it's gotta get easier from here.
On a lighter note- I am *so* excited about Kenpo tomorrow!! It is going to bring me back to my Tae Bo days with Billy Blanks :)

Day 4 - Yoga X
Yoga was the most difficult workout yet. That could be because I'm exhausted from a crazy day at work.... and the fact that I'm the least flexible girl, quite possibly in the world, doesn't help either. :)
It did feel good to stretch my sore muscles... my right triceps is unusually sore, to the point where I can't fully bend my arm. I'll need to work on the left arm a little more in the next arm workout to even them out. :)
It's 10:00 and it's time for a shower and bed. 'Night kids.

Day 3 - Shoulders and Arms & Ab Ripper X
I hurt. During today's workout I learned that my left arm is definitely much weaker than my right... I was doing almost twice the amount of reps with my right at first, so I decided to even it out to make my left arm stronger.
I got nauseous during Ab Ripper X and I'm not sure why... Maybe two, well, actually three, workouts in one day was too much. Well, assuming I don't have anymore injuries, it is only one workout a day from here on out. Woo!

Before Pictures and Stats
I am SO ready to tone up. My obvious problem area is my booty... When I do gain weight it tends to go right to my lower body. Pear shaped, no?
I am flexing in the first two poses... I'm hoping to get my thighs and abs back to where they were when I was working out at the gym last year.
Measurements - 3/23/10
Waist 26
Hips 37
Thighs 19¼
Arms 9 (haha)
Weight: 126
Height: 5'8"
BMI: 19.1 (This is a very low BMI so I'm definitely not trying to lose any weight)
(and don't be hatin' on my knock knee)
Cardio X to the rescue
After Plyometrics kicking my ass, I decided to try Cardio X instead like that freak show suggested at the beginning of plyo, haha.
Cardio X was fantastic. My heart rate was up the entire hour and I was able to finish the entire thing despite the burning pain in the back of my left leg from last night's injury.
In a little bit I'm going to catch back up to my days and get back on track with Shoulders and Arms and Ab Ripper X to complete day 3.

Day 2 - Plyometrics
I didn't get out of work until after 8 pm and I hadn't eaten since about 1:00 in the afternoon so I got home with every intention of stuffing my face and then starting plyometrics... I undress out of my scrubs and get into my workout clothes and sneakers and start the dvd to get an idea of what plyometrics is going to be like while my entire box of pasta cooks on the stove.... and one of the first things this joker says is "Definitely do NOT eat within at least an hour before attempting plyometrics.
Great.
Well, I'm either going to pass out or puke, so I decided to multitask and try a few minutes of plyo while my pasta cooked.... about 10 minutes later, here I sit with what *feels* like a pulled hamstring.
Awesome.
I really don't know what to do now... What I do know is that this pasta tastes pretty damn good.
I think I may do Cardio X instead of plyometrics (which I am clearly not ready for).... after I finish eating my pasta and ice the back of my leg of course...
:(

Day 1 - Chest and Back & Ab Ripper X
I hate you, Tony Horton.
No, not really... if this fitness maniac is going to help me lose the jiggle I have seemed to slowly develop in the past year, I will love him for life.
You see, I have always worked out; between playing basketball, fast pitch softball, or making it a habit to jog around the block before work, I have always been athletic. I was to the point where I felt strange if I didn't do some sort of physical activity on a regular basis.
Well, in May of 2009, that came to a halt. I was unemployed, so before spending the entire afternoon looking for jobs, I would spend 2 to 3 hours in the morning in our apartment complex's gym working out. It was great for me, both mentally and physically. However, after about 5 months of bulking and toning, I caught the cold from hell. I completely lost my voice, my asthma flared up, and I was not able to get out of bed for a week... between that and a long-term relationship coming to an end and moving back to my hometown with my parents, the exercise has completely ended. I haven't even been able to jog around the block due to my crazy work schedule and long hours.
So... Here I am... 11 months later... P90x. Why not, right? Something I can do in the comfort of my own bedroom. I hear plenty about it; especially at work where I see clients hitting their weight loss goals on a daily basis and talking about how great it is for toning up. Even my assistant manager is halfway through her 90 days and is already having great results....
Which brings me to my deep-seeded hate for a man named Tony Horton.
Today was day 1 of what I believe is going to be a very long 90 days.
It isn't my arms or chest I want to work on, it's more my booty and thighs.... but I decided to do the "classic" workout schedule and work everything... Besides, my coworker measured me yesterday (working in weight loss we do those kinds of things when we're bored) and my upper arms are 9 inches... heh... so maybe these little toothpicks need some bulking and a few push ups wouldn't hurt.
Day 1 was not as difficult as I expected it to be... of course it's easy to say that when they allow you to do as many reps as you want... 5, 10, 80... it doesn't matter; you do as many as you can. Well, let me tell you. This little girl was not backing down... I did diamond push ups until my arms gave out and my chest hit the floor... I did pull ups (with a chair under my toes) until I was shaking. It wasn't a lot of reps, but I'm hoping that I'm able to do more as time goes on. I really pushed so I WILL feel this tomorrow, and I'm sure even more so the next day... but it's going to be worth it in the end. Hopefully.
I will be posting before pictures soon... I took them yesterday and will take more every 4 weeks for comparison.
Along with pictures, I will also post my current measurements, BMI and weight... Not that I am trying to lose weight; I'm just curious to see if my weight goes up at all as I gain a little muscle.
I am not following any kind of diet with this because I already try to ("try to") eat fairly healthy and like I said, I definitely do not need to lose weight. I am, however, going to incorporate EFA's, a GNC multivitamin, and lots of water throughout these next 3 months for overall health.
It's after midnight and I'm off to bed to dream sweet dreams about my... (let's see... March 23rd...90 days...) my June 23rd (!) rock solid beach body and the day this will finally be over. (June 23rd... only 2 days past the first day of summer. I like it :)
